Maria Victoria "Avic" Q. Caparas is an Associate Professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific (Manila, Philippines). She teaches Managing People in Organizations and Human Resources Management. She earned her Ph.D. Management from the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra (Spain) and her M.B.A. from the Imperial College Business School, London (United Kingdom). She was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting, from the University of the East (Philippines). She was the first Visiting Scholar of Catalyst (New York) from January to July 2006.

Dr. Caparas’ research interests include work-family balance, women’s advancement, people management, cross-cultural leadership, diversity and inclusion. She is affiliated with the IESE International Center of Work and Family. She is also a member of the Cross-Cultural Management Network of the IESE International Research Center on Organizations. She manages her own firm MV Q Caparas Management Consultancy Services.
